Dizziness & Vertigo
Dizziness is one of the most common complaints among people seeking treatment from a doctor and affects more than 35% of adults over the age of 40.
There are many causes of dizziness, but as we age the most common cause is the dysfunction of the Vestibular System. This is a small system that sits behind the inner ear and helps with upright posture and balance. Issues with the Vestibular System can create not only dizziness but unsteadiness, sensation of feeling “off”, nausea, and difficulty concentrating.
Our therapists are specialized in treating dizziness and are trained in Vestibular System diagnoses including:
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
- Vestibular Weakness (hypofunction)
- Vestibular Migraines
- Complex Vestibular Disorders
- Visual Motion Sensitivity
- Central dizziness resulting from stroke or other brain injury
- Concussion
